i heart my equilateral triangle quilt ~ BQF FALL 2013

welcome to amy's fall BQF 2013

i love equilateral triangles

finished piecing this quilt at my yearly hen party quilt retreat with a little help from corona xo....  the final design was so inspired by blue elephant stitches
machine quilted w figure eight by dave hudson from digitech

this quilt was made mostly with art gallery fabric [LOVE] and finished up queen size

with a special stamped label [MORE LOVE]
this will be a FOREVER favorite xo

definitely loving all the  PURPLE in this pieced back xo

i LOVE this quilt very very much! makes me happy to share it here on the bloggers quilt festival ~ i love the endless inspiration that can be found online...a good example of that is here kristie from OCD and i were both inspired to make a triangle quilt by blue elephant stitches BUT our finished quilts are completely different...

i entered another quilt also here in the scrappy quilt category
thank you to AMY  for organizing this wonderful quilt fest every spring and fall...xo pam

i believe in the colour wheel ~ i believe in ME ~ AMY'S BQF fall 2013

WELCOME to the BLOGGERS QUILT FESTIVAL hosted by amy ellis from amy's creative side

my quilt was inspired by by cheryl  i organized my scraps by color to make a few colorful charity blocks for the flooding in southern alberta this year...and i fell in  love with this block xo
the slab pattern and inspiration came from one of my favorite improv books ~ sunday morning quilts

one block led to another and oops i accidently started another quilt
i machine quilted it with cathedral windows by j. schick from digitech and finished it perfectly with a striped binding

i used a recycled duvet and appliqued " i believe in the color wheel ~  i believe in me" with pieced  lakehouse letters

each block measures 15 " ~  i made 20 blocks in total and  pieced them 4 across 5 down ~ finished quilt measures 60 by 75" more here

i love my canadian block xo

one big happy cuddle scrap quilt FINISH just for ME xo

i quilt a lot....mostly for others with my long arm business BUT i love to make my own quilts too...and most of those are given away to someone special SO i love that this one and this one are for ME !

OODLES OF MORE QUILTS HERE AT THE  BLOGGERS QUILT FESTIVAL~ CHECK OUT THE AMAZING COMMUNITY OF ONLINE QUILTERS...every spring and every fall i am super inspired and ALWAYS find new and exciting blogs to follow.  thank you to amy for organizing xo pam

this one is for BARB xoxo

our good friend barb has moved from her long time family home in redmond to live close to her son in gig harbor xo gina got the idea to make her a going away quilt...using this signature block

these blocks came together from friends near and far ... xo

i met barb in 1995 at the " going to pieces " quilt group at redmond pacific fabric store...[no longer there but now meets at the bellevue store]  barb had recently joined the group too ...barb bought a long arm soon after ...she made many quilts and many friends along the way...even inspired me to buy a long arm...

the blocks were  pieced by many...and put together by judy, carey and patty...the backing was done by susan...quilting by me [loop the loop by barbara becker from digitech]...label by gina...binding by kay ...gotta love how many friends came together on this one

and last night we gave her this special memory quilt made with so much love by so many ... it was her first time receiving a finished quilt !  we love barb! and we are so happy that she plans on visiting often xo xoxo
    happy wednesday xo pam
