we did mount rainier xo

we just got back from camping and hiking in  mount rainier national park....

this is the road that leads to ohanapecosh in mount rainier national park xoxo

these are the beautiful trees above you at ohanapecosh xo

this is the crisp and clear ohanapecosh river ~ taken from the bridge in our campsite...

this is where we camped  at C -16 at ohanapecosh ...but next time we will try to get 17 or 15 right on the river bank xo

so many tough hikes to choose from xo

this is our marmot friend who was waiting for us at the top ...quite the view this guy has!

 we also met these two at the top...they  hiked the 3.2 mile trail in bare feet...i am going to follow their up and coming blog ~ live naked

we had a shorter but steeper hike at paradise xo ...i love john muir xo
 and so we are back from another great camping trip...we will definitely go here again!!

two more down xo

i finished up 2 more quilts for pam today ...i have another one to do for diane tomorrow before we head out to ohanapecosh for a camping  long weekend on thursday am...woo hoo

pam made this  quilt for her nephew with his father's t-shirts ~ i have said this before and  i will say it many more times...all quilts are special but some are extra extra special xoxoxo

it is my first ever army / harley  quilt ~ machine quilted w star and stripe by urban elementz


this quilt will be treasured xo

and this is  her  route 66 for a special friend that loves road trips...love her fabric choices...done w loop the loop by barbara becker

very very [good] tired today xoxox

boo hoo .... said goodbye to joyce and ron early this morning....we had  a great time and packed a lot in for a 3 day visit...xo

on saturday we did the crazy busy pike place market
and  bill speidel's underground tour...this is the view from underneath downtown seattle  ...you can see people passing by above you through the glass sidewalk ...and the early  history of seattle is pretty crazy xo

and we managed one small family dinner on saturday night with fresh halibut xo

on sunday joy and i even snuck a trip to joann's in...and i got some very fun goodies...she got a lot of minky...

found this book on sale too...and i am very happy to have it xo

BUT these eyes might be my favorite find ...
then we had afternoon wine tastings down the hill in woodinville wine country...

enjoyed that very much...and we followed that with a delicious dinner at purple

finished sister susan's le jardin quilt late last night...xo

was very motivated because i wanted joyce to take it home with her  to susan when she departed this am....
and i am back to work today with a customer quilt...pam did a great job piecing this awesome t-shirt quilt and i am machine quilting it with stars and stripes....looking good xo

super scenic drive north ~ whidbey island to chuckanut drive...

lucky us ...my sister joyce and ron are visiting from alberta...we caught a ferry to whidbey island....and drove thru coupeville and deception pass ...ooolalala

we stopped in edison for a beer at the longhorn....and i even spotted  a fabric tree in town

we finished our amazing day with dinner on chuckanut drive at the oysterbar ....

the food was beautifully delicious xo

 perfect view on a perfect day xo
                                tomorrow we head south to seattle for the underground tour and pike place market ~ and the next day we plan on spending some time  down the hill in woodinville wine country ~ entertaining guests in the summer in the northwest is super fun and super easy  xo pam

baby seahawk

last customer quilt for a bit...i got a week off coming up woohoo xoxo

pam c. made this AWESOME SEAHAWK'S quilt for her first grandson with a little help from an applique friend xo

her friend enlarged the seahawk logo for the applique and pam did the rest...i love the blue/ green combo...machine quilted with dizzy
                          actually i have one more quilt to finish tomorrow...le jardin for sister susan xo

having the PERFECT fabric in my stash was a bonus ~ valorie wells butterfly flannel and sandi henderson butterfly cotton LOVE each other

this pillowcase is for a neighbor who is not feeling well xoxo

finished it with a handmade with love label and a pretty selvedge bow xo

quilting in july xo



july is happily moving right along...
beautiful weather...
time in the garden...it is beautiful out there xo
lots of time spent in my cool sewing room [love sewing barefoot this time of year]
our first summer with an empty nest....lots of quiet time ~  maybe too many margaritas??
nick is having a birthday tomorrow ... and i don't even have a plan yet...and i LOVE that xo
spring cleaning is almost done... excited that my sister joyce and ron are coming from alberta for a visit this week...
lots of fun favorite things planned.... edison, chuckanut, kingston ferry, deception pass, pike place , underground seattle tour, wine tasting, delicious dinners...eeeeee it is going to be GOOD [ NO SEWING]
but in the meantime...

made a purple one to go with these pretties

and another yellow one...

cuz this one was calling my friend's name...they just did a yellow / grey remodel xo


and then most of my time i am busy with  great customer quilts...this is lorraine's flower garden quilt done w freemotion daisies, echo and straight lines...you can see LOTS more customer quilts here

and i am loving this new panto....bows by dave hudson...

got this done yesterday...just in time for my sister...

also finished my friend's  table topper  with it too...

love the thin yellow stripe on the back xo

looks good on my patio BUT

 it will make me happy to give this sunny little gift away...
