carnaby street bunting , my featherweight esther and something very scrumptious

finished up a pat bravo carnaby street bunting kit that i got at the portland spring 2013 quilt market....not sure what i was waiting for cuz it was super easy and it is super cute xo

spent yesterday afternoon  at the  keepsake featherweight club  with the wonderful joyce teaching and my new/old friends including  nancy  who just so happens to be a featherweight  expert/queen ~ lucky for us we are learning a lot more  history on the fabulous featherweight ... nancy loves to restore and collect them, and she always does a project or two on each machine before selling them...my featherweight's name is esther and she was made in britain in 1959 and i love her xo

and we made this fun easy pillow project for july 4th xo
and i just finished machine quilting christi's beautiful bonnie and camille scrumptious quilt with rosie by jodi beamish

this fabric really is scrumptious right? and rosie really is perfect for it xo

briar rose is all DONE

a SWEET briar rose finish....the pattern was totally inspired by redpepperquilts  and the fastest ever hst method is from here  and an easy tutorial here from missouri quilt company
the strawberries and the bees are my favorites from briar rose fat quarter tower xo

i machine quilted this w spring fling by patricia ritter ~ it was a perfect choice w the daisies and the bumble bees  ~  i was a bit worried about all that bias cutting but the hst's finish up so perfect and all the bias quilts up beautifully w a bit of steam  and my points are ALMOST perfect xo

i  made a scrappy binding with my teeny tiny leftovers ...
i made a stamp and selvage label xo

i started hand sewing the binding with the sweet afternoon sunshine and a corona

i love using the clover clips for binding ~ no more pins for me

moved onto more stitching w a glass of wine just before dinner ... cheers to selfish saturday sewing xo

and finished it up in the evening after a delicious dinner made by nick

i love everything about this quilt  ~  thank you to rita and eva for the inspiration xo

especially the back ~ i took a big chance on this recycled cotton/poly shower curtain cuz it was so very PERFECT and i am not disappointed xo

SO MANY PHOTOS but it is one of the sweetest quilts i have made xo

it was a GREAT saturday with a GREAT selfish sewing  finish...XOXO
i started 3 quilts with the easy hst method  ~ more here  so i am very happy to have one completely done  ~ happy sunday xo pam

i love june

i am loving the june sunshine in my sewing room

i decided on a perfect but unusual back [ a beautiful recycled cotton/poly print shower curtain ~ $4.99 from value village that i had in my linens stash ~ i was a bit nervous about the  tension  but was so drawn to how perfectly it  paired] with my heather ross briar rose half square triangle quilt more here

i  considered a lot of ideas for the machine quilting before deciding on SPRING FLING by patricia ritter ~ i love it....it is perfect with the daisies and bumble bees and tension is no problem xo

our little vegetable garden is thriving...kale [ in the last row] is the fastest growing by far...

and fushia flower is winning my heart AGAIN
and i am inspired to finish up an improv quilt that was set aside last summer  ... more here

i have decided to bring in some more color...inspired by chawne's  quilt ~  more here  ... after machine quilting hers i am EXCITED to proceed with mine...xo
