nyc hurricane sandy quilt relief ~ the making and giving away of " BRIGHTER DAYS "

back in  november ....hurricane sandy happened and when i saw gathering fabric's newsletter i decided to make a quilt...started out with 2 1/2 " wof strips sewing 3 strips together
and cut them into 6 1/2 " square blocks....my first plan had  a low volume idea

but looking at this i decided to add some solid white ...

put several rows together rail fence style...fell in love but then life happened....it sat for awhile...
over christmas break it surfaced again xoxox

and i finished piecing and managed to get it on the longarm
used some ufo blocks for the back

and fell in love  xoxo
white might not be the most practical but this is a HAPPY quilt...
i took a lot of photos

machine quilted it w modern links by jodi robinson

decided on a white binding...more in love  xoxo

i stamped a label...cuz i am a stamper now xoxox
and  today i attached a card

with a special note ...and dropped it off at my lqs   ...a big thank you to susan at gathering fabric for being a local drop off  ...she has already sent 13 quilts to luana@ equilter and is getting ready to ship more  xoxo
