I made the 6th annual MS raffle quilt ... and with a lot of help from friends and family we raised the most ever - $1137.00 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. We walk for Richard Beszhak... our good friend and neighbor and the many others who have been diagnosed with MS. This year the winner is Linda Seals, a local quilting girl who got her winning ticket from Eva Holen - a very wonderful quilt teacher at LWC who is one of my favorite women in the whole world....every year she helps me raise money for MS and supports my longarm quilting business .....Thank you Eva and congratulations to Linda!!! Linda said that she has been supporting quilt raffles for over 10 years and this is her first time winning!!!
A special thanks to Nick who does the tickets every year ....to Monica who does the awesome posters and helps with tickets....to Liz and Amber who take the quilt around to book club and PTA....to Lily and Russell for walking with the quilt around the track many times today raising money.... to the girls in my quilt group who support it every year ....all our friends and neighbors that get lots of tickets every year and EVERYONE ELSE that made it possible to raise all this money by taking a chance on winning a quilt!!!

ReplyDeletePam,
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THIS POST. One of my best friend's Mom just recently passed away and had suffered with MS for over 10 years. I would LOVE to do something like this in Indy. Can you share with me how you raise you money? Does someone donate the fabric? How early do you start raising money before the walk?
