last project of the year....triple color wheels in the house !!

WOW ! i got to spend  my last day of 2011 machine quilting these beauties....i LOVE this color wheel quilt soooooo much....i have had mine quilted and hanging in my sewing room for many months....the two i quilted today side by side on my longarm belong to my sisters.... more here and here....seeing this quilt times three was  so amazing that i could not stop taking pictures ....a triple pleasure for my eyes !!!!

and oops got distracted for a second....i fought for this calendar and won at the family white elephant gift exchange....and starting tomorrow it will have a special spot in my sewing room ...thank you lily

used the same pattern again..it works so well with this quilt....

hallelujah....i am minutes away from finishing up my awesome christmas sewing....

i spent today in a very busy way....a little bit of stairs...a little bit of costco...a little bit of customer quilting and then a little bit of fun sewing for christmas... making more of these sweet houses .....
then finishing up 5 sewing kits for some special girls i know and finally  piecing this easy peasy sounder's quilt...a christmas gift idea i got at the last sounder's soccer game i went to...

started by making these sweet little pin cushions

then i found some cute boxes at ross and tj max

 i bought some sewing goodies but i also was able to use  a lot of fun extras i had in my sewing room 

i got this idea when livi told me that she is the sew go to girl at college because i gave her a little $3.99 sewing kit with her graduation quilt....so somehow i turned this idea into gifts for 5 college girls....i am so happy that they will all have  real sewing kits now....

so easy and there is enough to make 2 quilts....i bought 3 - 2 yard cuts ....cut them in half length wise....sewed the 3 lengths  together making it approximately 65" x 72" i will be machine quilting it this weekend with a flannel back...i used kona black, regata and green tea

this is where my inspiration came from.....we have some good friends that are absolute sounder's fans....they are going to looovvve this quilt !!!

completetly cauchy has been a favorite blog for awhile....her wonderful lenny quilt quilt caught my eye a long time ago...in fact in went into my flickr faves....
she is doing a communal quilt project and her goal is to collect 49 blocks that somehow contain the f*uck word...
a little bit naughty for me but so much fun....i am so looking forward to seeing all the other blocks....she has already posted a few on her blog and you can read more about it here

testing testing 123 jenny's quick curve ruler...

i finished the quilt i made w one of jenny's many patterns that use the quick curve ruler...i love the pattern and ruler and found the technique super easy....good job jenny !
i am really going to enjoy seeing what other quilters come up with ....AND seeing jenny's success , she has been working on this for a long while and i think she is almost ready...

the only thing i struggled w was my fabric choices....jenny's pattern was done w solids and i love it...want to do another one...this is a very quick and easy method...

i heart dave hudson's packer weave panto...and i heart double batting.....thanks jenny !

now that it is complete i love the fabric choices....

little tiny christmas houses and mark your calendars for fun giveaways on december 12th....

i like to make a little  handmade christmassy something for my quilty friends and our neighbors ....i have been wanting to make a little something -  something from kajsa wikman's book ever since i got it last year for christmas....and i am not disappointed....these houses are so fast , fun and fabulous !!!!
i wish i had time to make hundreds !! i would love to hang these happy little houses  everywhere !!

i think the wonkier they are the cuter they are....perfect for using up your little leftover bits and pieces...
