weekend crafting xoxox

SO INSPIRED by meg ....i have had this idea on my mind for a long time....and i have a LOT of french general fabric left over from my finished le jardin quilt

so fun to work with these left over fabrics....5 little mug mats all sewn up xoxox
began last night...finished this morning....love this ticker tape / no rules / everyone is different kind of crafting xoxoxo

so easy and fun...i made mine a bit bigger using 9 1/2 x 6 1/2 inch for the main part of the house and  a 7 inch square cut on the diagonal for the roof

added initials to personalize a few for gifts xoxo

added a few buttons

love using bits of lace and ric rac

doesn't even matter if you sew straight xoxox

these will be great gifts....i think there will be many more of these...
a big thank you to meg for the inspiration....a lot of my favorite project ideas come from others and i really appreciate the ones that encourage you to be creative...play and have fun xoxo pam

one good thing about rainy days and mondays

we are having some very wet days...but that makes it very easy to stay home and sew and sew and sew xoxoxox

finished piecing half of my sandy quilt

using only fabric from my stash i pieced 3 x 2 1/2 " wof  together
and cut  them into 6 1/2 " squares

inspired by redpepperquilts to do a low volume

but also played around with the sash and corner block idea
before deciding on this alternate solid white block pattern as my favorite...more to come soon

also did this up for nancy... machine quilted with blast off by lorien.... it will be a sample quilt at pacific fabric in bellevue

i love that this fabric is called ~extraordinary world~ by jennifer heynen for in the beginning
this was my very wet yet wonderful walk yesterday xoxox

we are feeling very fortunate due to all the local flooding in our area...and the sun is trying hard to shine today....happy tuesday xoxo pam

a quilt for sandy xoxox

i have found a very good reason to start a new quilt....check out eQuilter .....they have organized a HUGE 5000 quilt relief project...these quilts will be going to the families that have lost EVERYTHING and our local  gathering fabric shop will be a drop off  xoxoxo

i have been wanting to play with the "low volume" idea for awhile xoxox more to come on this soon...

all these  wonderful possibilities are in my stash...and will definitely make a very happy quilt xoxoxo pam

addicted to applique

i just finished  my le jardin quilt top and i was having applique withdrawls ....i MUST have a hand job [ha ha] on the go or my quilt world is not in balance....

kay and i both bought this BEAUTIFUL simplicity quilt kit together years ago....and yesterday was our sew day ....so together we sorted through the templates [kay had started the 200 % enlargements and was ready to transfer to freezer paper] and got this beauty started xoxoxo

this fabric is sooo pretty .....the center applique block is 32" square and has a million pieces...it is set on point and has 68 flying geese, 140 half square triangles, borders, corner half squares and corner applique...and finishes up 74"square xoxoxo

this is what i have so far...i use  the spray starch method for applique and kay does needle turn [cuz she is the applique queen xoxo]
either way it takes a lot of LOVE and time to finish these beautiful quilts....who knows when it will be done??? it could take years but that is okay...as long as i have a to go project all is well xoxoxo

happy saturday xoxox pam
