Lily is the youngest of my 4 kids...she is so independent...i am so proud of her...and this is the  first birthday without her..boo hoo AND  thank goodness for SKYPE !!

i spy meets polaroid for blake xo

i always love to be a small part in a good story...
while checking in on my favorite blogs the other day i came across this post from leanne@ shecanquilt ~ this girl ALWAYS inspires! xo
 i knew "instantly" that  i wanted to do a few of these FUN polaroid blocks...sharon from lilabellelane is organizing this wonderful quilt for BLAKE ...WOW ! ~ she has received  over 120 blocks and they are still coming XO    more info here

i made 4 for BLAKE and 4 more ME...cuz i love this idea....love the way sharon is finishing up these blocks too and i love that i am sending these blocks all the way  to kangaroo flat, victoria, austrailia!!

i stitched these blocks up w my new trusty friend ESTHER...just have to get used to her foot pedal xo

welcome to esther ~ the singer featherweight ~ my beautiful new sewing friend

i welcomed this new friend to our home yesterday xo she was made in 1960 in great britain

i love her front grill xo

esher looks good from behind too...

she is so pretty and shiny new ~ looking so fine for a girl of 53 years!!

esther came w her original carrying case and attachments....she only weighs about 11 pounds...i know she will travel well, especially on quilt retreats and sew days and maybe the odd camping trip and  i hope to have her fly with me one day too xo

i bought this treasure from my friend nancy...she collects , restores and resells featherweights...when i asked if she had any for sale ~ she said YES...  about 17 ...i chose from 3 in my price range and i am very happy with sweet  esther [ named after my hero ~ esther clayson pohl lovejoy]

BEST new dinner idea...brushetta spaghetti squash yum yum

made it...loved it...so delicious !! couldn't find the recipe that i reposted recently from Jenny Morris Pedigo ...where did it go? i used this recipe as a guide xo http://www.southbeach-diet-plan.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=14084#p92944

 

used the above recipe as a guide line and it worked great...i usually bake my squash but 10 minutes in the microwave was perfect... i had fresh garden tomato and basil, red onion , sausage, a drizzle of olive oil and a dab of butter

 topped w grated cheese...broiled for a few minutes...yum yum ...was so GOOD...this dinner  is a KEEPER xo
