it is a new year 2017

the new year has zoomed in...and machine quilting for my business is always the  main focus but  i am easily distracted to MAKE by everyone and everything !

this happened with the leftovers from my wedge tree skirt that i made at christmas...i love it and hope to finish up something great b4 next xmas

and i got another heart quilt pieced for dawson place ~ snohomishmqg

i love this heart variation ~ the lay out and block variation was inspired by crimsontate and the heart block tutorial is from cluckclucksew

and i happily made  this 8 1/2" block with the teeny tiny triangles left from the heart quilt ~ i have a plan for  this idea  to grow BIG

and  this was also an instagram inspiration from @laurie i love this topsy turvy layout and such a good use of novelty scraps

hopping on this a year late but this #quilty365 got started because it is such an easy carry along applique project  and i was totally inspired by the red on  @maryse's instagram xo
and my experimenting led to a smaller size and hopes for a big fun red quilt

and my lolipop trees is moving along slowly ~ recently finished block seven

i started this pattern by kim mclean march 25  2014

and i just  got started on block eight of sixteen ...at this rate it might be done in 2020

most exciting of all ~ i am going to #quiltcon2017 in savannah, ga. in fourteen sleeps!! this a sneak peek of  a very special finish for my quiltcon friend xo  i am soooo directionally challenged with bag making i could NEVER have made this without the pattern  kidgiddy badgeholders  xo

this special guy will be two in may ~ love when he comes to visit xoxo

cheers to many finishes in 2017 ~ happy wednesday xo pam

still here keeping it simple

i machine quilted diane's sweetwater table topper with matchstick quilting ~ i am not sure who thought of matchstick  but i thank them cuz it really does look great

this sweetwater backing is perfect for a special valentine project xo
i machine quilted diane's paisley park with a paisley design

joyce's bom star quilt finished up beautiful with swirl and twirl

and so fun to do joyce's bunnyhill halloween in january

instead of prairie points joyce used a big fat ricrac

janie loves bunnyhill too

raining cats and dogs is very sweet ~ so many fun details to stitch with bunnyhill

and i used waterworld on janie's crabapple winter wonderland ~ i love the way an edge to edge works on this quilt

and janie's wool applique finished up great with a few continuous curves

happily sewing away ... still love my job machine quilting for others and being inspired by so many.
i am not much of a blogger these days...i share more of my every day here on instagram

happy snowy monday  from the PNW xoxo

a big improv finish

it started w a few favorite fabrics...i found the vintage corduroy and orange floral yardage at value village

i found improv handbook for modern quilters so helpful and inspiring ~ i also follow @sherrilynnwood and love her #makedochallenge

row by row i made this queensize quilt for sam and lani... following along w @seattlemqg seaslabbom and i was completely influenced by satterwhitequilts to make the spine block

over the space of a year i improvised and and loved all the support , encouragement and inspiration i found through books and social media

when i finished piecing  i was a bit disappointed with how wrinkled and wonky it looked

a view from behind

but i  pieced the back w a linen plus leftovers from the quilt top
and i machine quilted it with the pattern modern textures

i stamped it with value vintage because the most important fabrics in this quilt were found there at different times but were meant for each other

i am very happy with this finish... and it really did QUILT OUT  nicely

I LOVE IMPROV and i love that it is completely ready for it's new home xoxo
                                                                  happy sunday xo pam
