this is a quilt i started back in 2010 ~ using a 6" pinwheel block |
this fall my sister finished piecing them together[ in exchange for some quilting xo] |
yesterday i added the 6 "borders...with the 7 extra pinwheels that were left over plus a few 4 patch blocks for something a little different [ and because i was too lazy to make more pinwheels] it measures 66" x 78" now |
ORANGE YOU HAPPY is definitely the name of this finish xo |
i love how the assymetrical border makes it a bit odd...
and i am pretty excited about using this PERFECT extra wide 108" back [available in 8 fantastic colors] ~ found at pacific fabric |
this is ORANGE CRUSH ~ the raffle quilt i made for MS back in 2010 ~ b4 i started blogging so no posts ~ i used a 6" hour glass block and quilted it with spring fling by patricia ritter ~ it raised over $1000 dollars xoxo |
i loved it so much i started the pinwheel orange for me but until recently it sat ....thank you susan for many hours of piecing xoxo |
looking forward to quilting it soon....xo happy monday xo pam
Oooooh, I really like how the extra pin-wheels have spilled over into the borders!! Makes it so fun and unique - along with the orange (my fave colour), you have a really great thing going on over there!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, orange is such a happy color. Love the quilt. Especially LOVE the random squares & HSTs in the border. I have 80 pinwheel blocks won from Block Lottery last month. Hmmmm...
ReplyDeleteBoth those quilts are so wonderful. I really love orange and using it alone like this is so wonderful. So although you made different blocks for each quilt, they look like the same pattern away from the edges, right? Which blocks did you find easier to piece and piece together?
ReplyDeletemmm...so juicy! i love your quilts so much, hon.
