TRIANGLE FINISH

started this quilt in july 2012...i originally  thought it would go like  this and then i saw this @ blueelehantstitches

and then i spent many hours playing with triangles at quilt retreat ...i totally hogged the big design wall ...but was able to complete the top

then i got it on the longarm and quilted it with figure 8 by dave hudson
I LOVE IT xoxox AGAIN a HUGE thank you for the total inspiration of this quilt from jolene at blueelephantstitches.

stamped a label and now i am on the home stretch with the binding

i used some abandoned blocks ...and the 8 yards of purple that i bought to use with those  abandoned blocks went to piece the back ...love when mistakes turn out so well xoxoxoxo
so happy to have a big QUEENSIZE FINISH xo pam  HOOKING up w friday felicities

hello monday morning xo

hello monday morning...i am back from a  weekend get away at wonderland with my quilt friends xo

i completed another star for isaac and ani's blue stripey lone star spangled quilt
i bought a few new blues...bottom middle w the cars is a new fave...when isaac was a little boy he went to bed with a toy car in each fist and the octopus is for u ani xoxo

and i finished a baby quilt for missy and devon...they are expecting a baby girl any day now....this "low volume" was inspired by redpepper and done w left overs from my hurricane sandy quilt
and we made pouches together....w a great tutorial from noodlehead ...xoxoxo

and i almost finished my equilateral triangle quilt ... started out this quilt intending to make 17 solid  rows of triangles...but was totally inspired by blueelephantstiches

this big wonderful mess  is going to be a queen size quilt on our bed xoxox spent many happy  hours playing w triangles this weekend xxo
we stopped in port gamble ...this is a wonderful quilt shop well worth the trip...@ susan and joy...this will be a MUST for your next visit xoxox

lots of room to create at wonderland...

i got the corner w a view

only 6 of us this time round...we missed you carey and joyce xoxox
as always i wished for more time...there were a few projects i didn't get to but we talked about starting a new tradition of 2 retreats a year instead of one ...fingers crossed xoxo

pouch love love love

pouch #4 coming up...i am going to use  noodlehead's tutorial this time to make a sewing pouch

this is pouch #1 i used a quilter's table tutorial for this 3 zipper pouch...mine did not turn out so great but it was  a good learning pouch xo
pouch # 2 is my favorite... i took some great ideas and made a custom pouch for ME...used a french seam {too bulky] and put an inner zipper along w lots of inside pockets...but i still thought i could improve it by making it a bit deeper and a bit shorter...
i feel so organized w this new pouch of mine xoxo
and it goes perfect w this bag that i made last june

sooo pouch #3 had good intentions but i am so disappointed...it is too deep and the zipper is too short...lessons learned xo i am most happy w pouch #2 and i am taking an early retirement from purse making xo
mostly i feel that i should stick to quilting ~ haha ~ but it has been sorta fun [mostly frustrating]
i did really enjoy the research and picking out fabric...i was inspired by pam @ threadingmyway she had a linky party for purses and there are over 100 ideas here....

happy hump day xoxo pam
