color possibilities are endless

OK I am making one more graduation quilt... it is the 6th one.... I have really enjoyed making all of them....lap quilts are such an easy size to work with AND the best part is having a worthy excuse to play with the  fabric and design that have inspired me recently.... it is also the best way in the whole world to show my love!!
This new project was inspired by pippa  her sidewalk quilt was featured on moderndayquilts [on my faves] and I was instantly attracted...she is one very creative girl with solids!!

the hard part was choosing my color ways because possibilities are endless

at first i was attracted to soft but decided to save that idea for a baby q

then i loved these 4 colors together but decided against that too....

hours later and a bit frustrated...i added black, orange, red and dark brown

now i am happy

i love these colors together

i am still playing w placement and i might make more blocks.....more to come soon...

this is my first all solid quilt....I love trying out new ideas and I thank everybody in blogland for sharing their creative goodness!!!  ~Pam~

i think i am just happy....

i have been in love w vintage sheets for awhile now....inspired by jeni at incolororder ...she is pretty much an expert in vintage ! it makes me smile that "vintage" is the sixty and seventies though !!!

this vintage sheet, orange flannel and striped fabric made the perfect trio

quilted w sunny day by gali design

love love this stripe binding
i pieced the backing w a strip of the sheet...

this wholecloth quilt is so HAPPY !

had a bit of fun w raw applique as well....
such a pretty floral....had an old sears label w 50/50 poly cotton

this is one happy, sunny ,

and cheerful quilt!!

i think i am just happy....
i found this sheet at the thriftstore for $2.50 prewashed it w oxyclean....used superior so fine on quilt top and superior bottomline in my bobbin... the sheet was 50 cotton 50 poly so i was a bit nervous about possible tension problems....especially because there is a lot of advice NOT to use sheets for quilting...i was very lucky and had no problems at all....xoxoxo  Pam

i heart rhubarb stepping stones and some beginner planking

rhubarb stepping stones are so easy to make and look so gooood in the garden ....this is my third time and they have worked real well every time. my sister susan made these for the first time years ago and gave me the directions...of course i couldn't find those the other nite when we were making them with jim and carrie BUT if you google you get lots of help...i used this link and also found a delicious recipe for rhubarb crisp!

jim is cutting the wire and carrie and nick are mixing it up
here carrie is hamming it up

afterwards jim was very tired...jk we were planking for fun....click on planking and check it out for a good laugh...it is a new craze!!!
carrie planked before dinner

nick planked earlier at bridal trails

i planked too... in fact i want to plank more..... but back to the rhubarb...

keep them wet for several days before flipping them over....

i use my longarm sewing tools to help pick out the rhubarb leaf

heh everybody look how good they look.....rhubarb has the very best veins....
we made 10 stones with 2 bags of cement ...the ones on the left are turned and cleaned....AND we had such a fun nite with our friends....

these stones have been in our lovely garden for years

~ hope it is a good good friday for everyone!!  xoxoxo pam ~

easy baby tag mat

I have made a few  tag mats in my day and I will admit that they have given me a "thing"  for ribbon....
this is the second one I have made for my husband's boss ...the first one is still being used by his first born who is 2 ....this is for  baby brother...
they are a fun and super easy project....

babies love the textures of flannel ,satin and ribbon

you can make these any size...I started w a 13"square of flannel and numerous  3-4" pieces of ribbons...pin them well and staystitch twice to right side of fabric making them VERY secure

cut another 13" piece of satin like fabric

pin right sides together  , sew 1/4 " around pivoting on corners and  leaving an opening for turning

turn right side out pressing and poking out your corners  and then I like to do a decorative stitch close to the edge ...this also closes the opening

this is an easy 1 hour project that babies will enjoy for many many hours....

my 17 year old daughter wants an adult size tagmat and I might just make her one!!

Happy Sunday to all....I am having a great day....I got out for some exercise, made this tagmat, finished machine quilting Hannah's peace grad quilt and now I am going to finish up the binding....oxoxo  Pam
