Jenny at Sew Kind of Wonderful has a wonderful blog ...I met her at a longarm meeting a few years ago and we both started blogging around the same time...we support, encourage and inspire one and other with customer and personal quilts.She is a busy mom of 5, works part time at Lowes,has a longarm business and still manages to find creative time for her quilts and home dec.Check it out...she is a very talented woman.

Sharon's Seams 2 b is also a local longarmer...I met her a few years ago at Innovations Machine Quilting Convention. I really enjoy following her posts, keeping track of her Gramma adventures, beautiful photography and quilting.She is  very involved with American Hero Quilts. Sharon has been blogging for several years. I love how our blogs keep us connected.Check it out...she is also a talented woman

Kay of Quilt Studio Happenings is my  friend...we have been together in a quilt group for 16 years.She has given me lots of encouragement and support with my blog.We are constantly inspiring each other with our projects...Kay is an avid quilter and has  multiple applique quilts going at the same time!! She has a special fondness for anything English and anything with houses!! Check it out .....another talented woman.

moving right along with Le Jardin block five

This BOM from Keepsake Cottage is a pure labor of LOVE!!! The quilt shop finished up Le Jardin last fall...I will not finish mine for at least a year but that is ok cuz I love to have an applique project for on the go  and I this one will be going for a looong while....I am happy to be on #5...the dresses are my absolute favorite part....and I love that Patty  #4, Kay  #3 and Susan  #7[but who is counting?] are also making this quilt....Joyce  has her's done and it is hanging in the shop....   http://www.keepsakecottagefabrics.com/  although the block of the month is no longer available you can still find the pattern and fabric at the shop if you are interested....

each block is so very intricate...this just might be "my once in a lifetime quilt"

I really am savoring this applique project...as I get older it seems I have spread my love over so many quilts ...sometimes it can be a little overwhelming...but I do my best to give them equal time and love them all the same....and it really would be hard to pick a favorite !!

Today's Goodness

Started out my day with  Let the Good Times Roll by the Cars on my walk....it was almost like hearing it for the first time loving it way more than I realized!!
Spent some time with my longarm friend Jenny http://sewkindofwonderful.blogspot.com/   .... we went to Country Village stopping in at   Keepsake Cottage quilt shop and the White House Antique shop..we both managed to find a few goodies....love sharing time with Jenny talking about our most recent inspirations, we started our blogs around the same time and have a lot of the same favorites......

The blog world has really got me going ....every week brings something new and exciting....this week I am grooving on In Color Order's blog...she has me falling in love with  vintage sheets and then there is Dottie Angel's blog...she has me completely charmed by her garlands and wall art.....I have some great ideas brewing thanks to these girls~ they are both  favorites in my side bar....hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday! sew day with kay

Another fun sew day with Kay... she worked on her square in a square and I worked on my Innocent Crush that was inspired by a Denyse Schmidt design called Not So Charcoal.....I have 3 rows done and I am thinking I will make 3 more...I am really liking this quilt and I love that it is for me me me!! having fun playing with scraps again....time to get back to work...

Doesn't get any simpler that this....

Good old square in a square does it again.....I started playing around with this last February on a quilt retreat then the other day I got it out again...played some more, pieced this simple fun back... did some simple straight line quilting and presto I have this wonderfully simple cuddle quilt that I absolutely LOVE!! It is crazy good how something so basic can be kind of hard ....I spent an afternoon trying out a few things and in the end I  only added the thin stripes between the blocks.

It was so satisfying to complete an unfinished project today.... I was feeling a little down cuz my sister's flight was canceled due to a  major snowfall in Edmonton....our so fun sew week is postponed to a later date...so sad but I will save all our plans for then....Pam
