a few weekend moments

invited by my good friend monica to spend a night on the key peninsula with her family

saw the first sign of fall with this tree

went on a beautiful boat ride...see mt rainier in the distance?

love this place on the ocean ...it was right by the boat launch...
today i played w my solid scraps for a bit....been wanting to for awhile..so inspired by mari from the quilting edge

this is what i got so far....i am really liking it.....

late afternoon trip to waverly beach w my daughter....this is the view from our blanket...so nice to see so many families out enjoying the last day of summer before school starts tomorrow....

really enjoyed this wine w our delicious dinner....
hope you had a great labor day weekend....and i also hope the fantastic weather forecast for the next few weeks is for real...it will make easing into the fall much easier that's for sure... xoxox pam

a vintage gift and a teatowel from lily

lily bought this 1972 sewing book at a garage sale for ME....i am so happy....it is full of great illustrations and i love love love it!! thank you miss lily!!

and a wonderful teatowel ...it is officially a collection now that i have 4....and i want more.....
makes me want to start going to  garage sales again...almost.. honestly i really need to get rid of stuff not collect more.....xoxox pam

wild irish rows quilting

judy irish and her husband ken hosted a wonderful garden party at their home in arlington yesterday... judy has the most amazing 1700 sq foot quilting studio with a 600 sq foot wrap around deck ...it was a beautiful day enjoyed by all her friends and neighbors....my friend kay drove up with me...we had such a fun day...we missed you jenny !!

hero quilts

finally finished machine quilting two american hero quilts...my friend sharon from seamstobe is very involved with the hero quilts and this was my  small contribution to this awesome cause.....

portlandia

had a wonderful one night getaway to portland with my sister julie...didn't take many photos...she hates having her photo taken and i left the camera at our room when we went on our beautiful morning walk to the ROSE GARDENS....oh well next time right ?
