so much PRETTY and so much BUSY

i have such  a PRETTY  workplace

i machine quilted joyce's farm girl vintage w figure eight by dave hudson...and i love it

i followed that with joyce's civil war quilt done w those teeny tiny  4" blocks ~ finished up perfect w continuous cathedral windows
and then there was kay's sweet jelly roll race machine quilted w a new pattern called star light by babrbara becker from digitech

followed by  kay's other quilt done w bloomin stars  by barbara becker

kay's  pretty pair belong together xo xo

and then this happened ... NBD nick and isaac took out  a fireplace and a wall that divided our dining room from our living room

a few finishing touches are still needed but the results are AMAZING ~ we have more  room for our large family dinners
and then this guy had his first birthday xoxo

section four ~ my small world

one two three four

section four came together easily and fits so well beside the rest

i did spend the whole rainy weekend on it but i am so ready for tuesday's class

house block four has  some clam shell applique

i mixed up the 14 by 8 sky a bit ~ the fifty eight[from ikea fabric] represents my golden year...

these tiny 2 1/2 " blocks have more of the 60 degree roof tops

house block five ~ super cute and easy
and my clothesline does make me so happy...these clothespins are from daiso and i love them
last but not least i am jumping ahead a bit with some easy hexies...i discovered that the largest circle from perfect circles makes the correct size hexie for hill block four [section seven] you don't need these til section seven but they are super easy and can be made ahead of time while watching tv etc.  ps they are super addictive xo easy tutorial here

seaslabbom update

i found more fabric and that makes me happy ~ i especially love the vintage gold roses with the black ~ it is a perfect late addition to this quilt found just in time cuz i was getting low on yardage xox

since my last post about this quilt i have made a few more foundation string blocks, a spine block and a curvy pieced row...
i love making these improv string blocks

the spine block is completely inspired by skfiberworks but the rest is mostly guided by sherri lynn wood and her book the improv handbook for modern quilters and i am also following the seaslabbom w matt hosting

seaslabbom@seattlemqg is keeping me inspired and with a monthly focus

this is going to be a big quilt and i don't need much more for a happy finish ~ i love  the surprises that improv always brings xoo

burlap and liberty

i made a few sweet burlap and liberty flags with my friend kay...the rugged burlap with the delicate liberty print ...i am in LOVE   xo

they have been on my  fast ,easy and beautiful to do list ever since seeing these beautiful liberty heartstrings from faithessenburg

i experimented w a stabilizer underneath

but ended up preferring the raw look with just a simple stay stitch around the edge and heart xo

then i finished them up with a simple string basted through the top edge

these little heart flags are simply addictive and such a great gift ~ thank you for the inspiration faith xoxo
